The Zambian Cancer Society (ZCS) joined the kickoff of the 75th World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee Meeting for Africa with the “Walk the Talk” Health Walk in Lusaka.
Every Step Counts in the Fight Against NCDs
The event was graced by the Minister of Health Zambia, Hon. Elijah Muchimba, and began at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
Under the theme “Walk the Talk, Every Step Counts – Start Now, and Beat Non‑Communicable Diseases (NCDs),” participants highlighted the importance of physical activity and healthy living as key strategies in reducing the burden of NCDs.
Looking Ahead to RC75
The health walk set the tone for the 75th WHO Regional Committee Meeting, which will bring together health leaders, partners, and stakeholders to deliberate on strengthening health systems and advancing universal health coverage across Africa.
For ZCS, participation reflects our commitment to integrating cancer awareness and survivorship support into broader strategies for tackling NCDs.
