Gymkhana Club Donation

Thank you LUSAKA GYMKHANA CLUB for your generosity! The Covid-19 pandemic is having a negative impact on cancer patients and those seeking early detection services. Even though many cancer patients have weakened immune systems and thus at a higher risk of contracting the virus, they still need ongoing care and support. Because cancer never sleeps many patients can’t just stop or postpone treatment due to Covid-19.

These are challenging times for cancer patients, service providers our supporters and the Zambian Cancer Society. But there is HOPE! Through a generous donation of K20,000 from the Lusaka Gymkhana Club we purchased 33 bottles of Ultravist aka contrast dye which is essential for CT Scan imaging. A CT scan is one of the most important ways that help doctors take a good look inside the body without cutting to distinguish normal cells from abnormal ones.

The handover of Ultravist to the Cancer Diseases Hospital was made on Monday, 30th March 2020. It is meant for the most vulnerable cancer patients who can’t afford to buy it.

The Zambian Cancer Society remains committed to standing with cancer patients and continues to offer support where we can. If you are able to join our efforts please call Idah on 0976 659 914 for more information.
